The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command organized a dialogue session on the harms of drug use and addiction, and methods of prevention against psychoactive substances. The session was attended by Brigadier Ibrahim Jassim Al Tunaiji, Director of the Ras Al Khaimah Anti-Narcotics Department, along with representatives from the Ras Al Khaimah Government Human Resources Department. The session was hosted by Mr. Tariq bin Yahmour Al Habsi at the Al Bayt Mutawhid Majlis in the Saih Al Hudaiba area.

The session focused on reinforcing the role of positive role models in protecting youth from negative behaviors and societal ills. It also highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the dangers of drug use, encouraging early reporting of cases, and emphasizing the need for early intervention and treatment to prevent the progression of addiction, safeguard lives, and protect young people from negative behaviors and societal ills.

Held in conjunction with the Year of the Family 2026 initiatives, the session emphasized the importance of empowering families to play their preventive role through early detection and intervention to protect young people, families, and society from the dangers of substance abuse, reduce its prevalence, and preserve the security and safety of both the family and the wider community.
